“ Amazing food, great service with a super friendly staff. The best Cholay Bature in the Bay Area and the most succulent grilled meats. They offer monthly specials worth trying out. ”
“ Quality/Quantity - Garlic Naan - I just love garlic naan; I can eat this all day. And to dip it in the two sauces!! The green sauce had a slight kick. The brown sauce tasted like it had honey in it...? They were both so good. Tandoori Chicken - Half order, my daughter did not want leftovers. As we are leaving back to Reno, NV on Sunday. Good flavors. Fish Masala - Generous size fish. Perfectly cooked. Good texture, not too soft. Jeera Rice - This was not cooked perfectly. Had a few lumpy clumps of rice. We are used to this being fluffy. Mango Lassi - My daughter enjoyed it. But she said it had a "tart" aftertaste. Pretty small portions too. Specials are also available; see my pictures or website. Atmosphere - Huge spacious restaurant. I bet they have many weddings here...? Plenty of mall parking, especially since the supermarket closed. Service - Good, welcoming and friendly. I inquired how much it would cost to buy extra sauces, and he gave me one of each for free; thanks. He asked me to do a Google review, but I told him that I am loyal to Yelp, lol. Price - $51 which includes the 3% credit card charge + tip. Expensive for what we got. I think my daughter ordered off the dinner menu...? It would have been inexpensive if we ordered from the "meal" section of the menu. Next time. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since January of 2023 and with your two locations. I will recommend you to all my Hayward friends. ”
“ The food here is great. The service was top notch and I'll be coming back here. The goat house special was one of the best I've had, the lamb korma was really good. The medium spicy level was a little less than I was expecting, so I'll kick it up a notch next time. ”
“ If I had just a little less self control, this food would have been Gone in 60 Seconds! Ordered some vegetarian mains from here a couple times now and this restaurant won me over pretty quickly. Sarso de Saag w/ Makki was delectable and has easily become a favorite from here. Aloo Gobi Mutter is one of my go-to comfort dishes and both were made fresh with care and quality. Lots of flavor but stays well balanced, great level of heat and not too oily. Will definitely be returning to this little gem in Hayward. ”
“ Photo might not be great, but the food was spectacular. Blew me and my family away. Our culture has lots of influence from Indian cuisine so we love the flavors and spices. We got the chicken tandoori (must get), lamb biriyani, goat curry, garlic naan, peri puti. Chicken is tender, juicy, smoky, flavorful...the onions/peppers are lightly cooked and charred as well. Lamb biryani had a generous amount of lamb and the rice was not mushy. You can taste every individual grain. We asked for medium heat for all the dishes. The goat curry had a tasteful amount of heat. The meat was NOT gamey at all. Super tender and delicious. Would recommend to try if you have never had goat before. The garlic naan was soft and pillowy in texture. It wasn't as forward with the garlic flavor, but still great as a vehicle for the curry/other dishes. Mango lassi was one of the best ones I've had in a while. You really can taste the yogurt throughout the experience. It gives it a nice tang which balances the sweetness of the mango. 10/10 coming again ”
“ We chanced upon this place and were quite delighted with our experience. The service was friendly and the place is pretty welcoming. We got a bunch of things for dinner and the highlights were: Dahi Batata Sev Puri Paneer Tikka Gravy Muli Makki Di Roti w/ saag Achari Chicken from the Tandoori Mix Goat Curry I wish I had clicked more photos. We'll definitely be back for more. ”
“ More of a 4.5? Whenever I am faced with the fact that I don't know everything and that all that I place my hope in is subject to change, it is a humbling and sobering moment. What can I control? How I go about the small, everyday choices I have control over. That's it. And that is a frightening realization but one that oddly frees you to put less pressure on yourself and trying to make everything work out. I mean, I think I change my mind and wake up a new person every day. What makes me think everything else/everyone else will be constant? What is supposed to happen, will happen. On that note, fam and I stopped by Shahi Darbar for some quality time. And we were starving after walking around different areas. We ordered the Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Whole Wheat Naan, and Basmati Rice. This was the perfect amount for two hungry adults. The Butter Chicken had strong tomato notes while preserving the creaminess and slight spiciness. The chicken was tender, and they provided a decent amount. The seasoning was PERFECT. The same went for the Palak Paneer. It came with a ton of rich, thick, and smooth spinach curry and chewy pieces of cheese. Again, the seasoning was PERFECT. Biggest downer? The Whole Wheat Naan. It seemed on the stale side despite being heated, and the texture was not chewy or soft. It did not feel handmade but store-bought:( The Basmati Rice was fine. The service was fine. The place itself is spacious and pretty clean. ”
“ Located off of Mission Blvd in a strip mall next to Edible Arrangements, you've got plenty of parking in the lot. The exterior doesn't look like much, big red letters and blinds on the windows. When you walk in, they've got several booths and tables along with a bar in the corner; however, I didn't see it in use. It has a small TV there. The ambiance is really nice for this place, recommend taking a family or friends for a nice meal. It has updated mood lighting and clean table settings. The restrooms are in the back - the women's was single-use. Eaters beware - there is a very pungent smell inside. Not quite sure what it was from but may be wise for the restaurant to have an air freshener in there. Weekend crowd probably fills about 5-6 tables and there seemed to be multiple take-out orders. The service was relatively attentive - they come around to fill your water cups often and give you some time to review the menu before taking your order. They have an extensive menu which can be viewed by using your phone to scan the QR code at your table. They probably have paper menus too, but didn't ask. Based on the reviews I saw, I decided to try the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and the egg biryani. Keep in mind, you have the option to choose the spice level: mild, medium, or hot. After putting in the order, the food came out about 20 minutes later. The spread was fairly colorful and had a pleasant aromatic smell. The main dishes were a good size to share between 2-3 people. Here's how the food broke down: Butter chicken (8/10) - Had a good tomatoey taste and color and the chicken was fairly tender which was nice to cover the egg biryani with. Would order this again! Chicken tikka masala (7/10) - A lighter orangey-oil consistency, which didn't quite taste like other chicken tikka masala I've had at other establishments. The biggest downside to this dish was the chicken wasn't as tender as the butter chicken, it didn't absorb the sauce as much in the dish but used this for the garlic naan. May not order this next time. Garlic naan (8/10) - 1 order came with 4 thin triangular pieces. The taste was okay, but it was disappointing to see how little came in the basket - would have been nice to see 2 more pieces with it. Egg biryani (10/10) - Tried this out for the first time and wasn't expecting much, but it ended up being the best dish of the night! The flavor was great, the color was vibrant, it has the right amount of herbs and garnishes on it. It paired well with the other items. I'd order this again for sure! Overall, this spot is a good location if you're in the mood for Indian food. With their extensive menu, there's plenty to try and come back again. I'll have to come back to try their popular sizzling tandoori chicken dish! ”
